Walk through your proposal with Simon — line by line.
A focused online meeting with Simon Liu — owner, Licensed Building Practitioner and Master Builder. We go through your renovation proposal together, answer every question, and make sure you know exactly what you're getting before you sign.
Already received your proposal? Pick any time below and we'll talk it through together.
You're meeting with Simon Liu — owner, builder, decision-maker.
I started Add Value Renovations to do residential renovations the right way: one team, one contract, one point of accountability. No subcontractor handoffs, no excuses.
In this meeting I'll walk you through the proposal myself — the scope, the numbers, and the thinking behind them. Ask me anything. I'd rather you fully understand what you're signing than have surprises once we're on site.
What we'll go through together.
A structured walk-through of your proposal — every section, in plain language. No pressure to decide on the spot.
Scope & inclusions
Exactly what's in your proposal, room by room and trade by trade — and just as importantly, what's not.
The investment breakdown
Where your money goes. We'll explain each line so the total makes sense and nothing feels like a black box.
Allowances & PC sums
How provisional sums, allowances and prime-cost items work — and where your final figure could move.
Timeline & programme
Your build stages, key milestones and dates — and what has to happen before we can start on site.
Contract, payments & guarantee
The Master Builder contract, your payment schedule and the 10-year guarantee — explained in plain English.
Your questions & next step
Time for every question you have. By the end you'll know whether you're ready to proceed, and what happens when you sign.
Pick a time that suits you.
Choose any open slot. Once you book, you'll get a confirmation email and a calendar invite with the video link. Have your proposal handy so we can go through it together.
Common questions about the review.
Quick answers to what people ask before a proposal review. Anything else, just ask Simon in the meeting.
Do I have to decide on the call?
No. There's no pressure to sign anything in the meeting. The goal is for you to fully understand the proposal — you take whatever time you need afterwards.
Should my partner or co-owner join?
Yes, if they're part of the decision. It's far easier when everyone hears the same explanation and can ask their questions directly. Just forward them the calendar invite once you book.
What do I need to have ready?
Just your proposal open in front of you and any questions you've jotted down. We'll share our screen and work through the document together, page by page.
What if I want changes to the scope or price?
That's exactly what this meeting is for. If something needs adjusting — adding, removing or value-engineering — we'll note it on the call and I'll get a revised proposal back to you.
Is this where I sign the contract?
Not necessarily. Some clients are ready to proceed at the end of the meeting; others want to sit with it. When you're ready, we send the Master Builder contract and guarantee through for electronic signing.
How long does it take?
Around 45 minutes — enough to go through everything properly without rushing. Larger or more complex projects sometimes run a little longer, and that's completely fine.
